For the year 2017 the Citizens Fire Co. No. 2 responded to a total of 104 incidents. Thankfully the amount of working fires and accidents with entrapment was lower then normal last year.

400 feet of Supply line was stretched and 1500 feet of attack line was stretched. 125 feet of ladders were used. The engine pumped at 5 fires and the tower's boom was utilized 3 times. Hydraulic rescue tools were used 3 times also. Our air monitor was used 3 times also. Saws were used 5 times.

The Citizens Fire Co. No. 2 Bar and Grill will be hosting a craft beer sampling on November 4th from 12PM to 3 PM. Cost is $15 presale and $20 at the door. You will get a chance to sample 11 different craft beers. Food will also be for sale. Next Tuesday October 10th from 6PM to 8PM the Citizens Fire Co. No. 2 and Mahanoy City EMS will be holding an open house at our firehouse at 212 W. Centre St. in Mahanoy City. Fire and EMS Apparatus will be on display for everyone to view. Kids will be able to put on fire gear and try their hand using a fire hose in addition to fire prevention activities. Membership information and tours of the firehouse will also be available. Come join us for a fun informative night.
Today, as on this day every year, the Citizens Fire Co. No. 2 and Mahanoy City EMS remember the events of this tragic day and all the lives that were lost. We also maintain in our thoughts all the rescue workers and others who continue to suffer from the after effects of their service at ground zero.
The Citizens Fire Co. No. 2 currently has several sections of 5 inch LDH for sale. All but one section is red in color with the remaining one being yellow in color. The sections have various dates of manufacture with all flowing well when taken OOS. For further information contact the Citizens Fire Co. No. 2.
Mark your calenders as Citz Fest returns this year from July 6 to July 8. A truck parade will be held on Friday July 7th and food, beverages, rides and games will be available all days. More details will be coming in the near future and we look forward to seeing you there.

Congratulations to the Mahanoy City Fire Department Person of the Year, former MCFD Fire Chief and Citizens member Randy Kalce. The award was presented by current Fire Chief Dan Markiewicz who also presented Randy and Safety Officer Tony Blackwell a plaque with there badge mounted on a front leather with their years of service.

Registration will be from 9:00 to 12:00, judging from 1:00 to 2:00, cruise of Mahanoy City will be 3:00 to 4:00 and trophies will be awarded at 5:00.
